Terms of Service

Welcome to Philonet.ai ("Philonet", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you", "your", "user") and Philonet regarding your access to and use of our application, website, platform, services, and related features (collectively, the "Platform").

By creating an account, accessing, or using Philonet, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Platform.

Eligibility & Acceptance of Terms

  • You must be at least 15 years of age or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction to use Philonet.
  • By registering, you represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity and authority to enter into these Terms.
  • These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Philonet.

Use of the Platform

  • Philonet provides an AI-powered social knowledge network enabling users to engage with third-party content such as articles, research papers, PDFs, and videos, and to participate in discussions and insights.
  • You are solely responsible for all activity conducted under your account.
  • You agree not to:
    • Post, upload, or distribute unlawful, harmful, defamatory, abusive, obscene, or infringing content.
    • Engage in harassment, hate speech, or misleading behavior.
    • Attempt to hack, disrupt, reverse-engineer, or misuse the Platform.
    • Exploit the Platform for spamming, algorithmic manipulation, or unauthorized scraping.

Violation may result in suspension or permanent termination of your account.

User Content & Intellectual Property

  • You retain ownership of any content you upload, post, or share on Philonet ("User Content").
  • By posting, you grant Philonet a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, adapt, and display such content solely for the operation and improvement of the Platform.
  • You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to share any content you post.
  • Philonet retains ownership of its proprietary rights, including but not limited to:
    • The Platform's design, software, algorithms, trademarks, branding, and AI functionalities.
    • All rights, title, and interest in and to the Platform not expressly granted to you.

Compliance with Publisher Terms & Copyright

  • Users are solely responsible for ensuring that their access to and use of third-party content (including articles, research papers, videos, or other materials) through Philonet does not violate any applicable copyright, intellectual property rights, or the terms of service of the original publisher or content provider.
  • Philonet does not grant you any rights to use, reproduce, or distribute third-party content beyond what is permitted by the original rights holder.
  • By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that your activities on Philonet comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and contractual obligations with third parties.

Content Disclaimer

  • Philonet does not verify the accuracy, legality, or reliability of user content or AI-generated insights.
  • Content on Philonet is provided for informational and discussion purposes only and does not constitute professional, legal, medical, financial, or other advice.
  • You acknowledge and agree that:
    • Any reliance on content (user-generated, AI-generated, or third-party) is at your sole risk.
    • Philonet disclaims all liability for damages, loss, or harm resulting from reliance on such content.

Factsynq™ Verification & Accuracy Disclaimer

  • Philonet provides an AI-enabled feature ("Factsynq™") designed to help users cross-check and compare information from multiple publicly available online sources.
  • Factsynq™ is intended solely as a basic informational aid and does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any information provided.
  • Factsynq™ outputs shall not be relied upon for legal, professional, financial, medical, or regulatory decision-making.
  • Users are strongly advised to independently verify any information obtained through Factsynq™ and assume full responsibility for their reliance on such information.
  • Philonet disclaims all liability for decisions, losses, or damages arising from use of Factsynq™ or reliance on its outputs.

Third-Party Content & Links

  • The Platform may display, analyze, or provide access to third-party content.
  • Philonet does not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for any third-party websites, materials, or services.
  • Your use of third-party content is governed by the terms and policies of those providers.

Moderation & Content Removal

  • Philonet reserves the right (but is not obligated) to monitor, review, or remove any User Content at its sole discretion, including content that:
    • Violates these Terms.
    • Infringes third-party rights.
    • Is harmful, misleading, or otherwise objectionable.
  • No failure or delay in moderation shall be deemed a waiver of Philonet's rights.

Termination & Suspension

  • You may deactivate or delete your account at any time.
  • Philonet reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if you:
    • Violate these Terms.
    • Engage in harmful, fraudulent, or abusive behavior.
    • Threaten the integrity, security, or operation of the Platform.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Philonet, its owners, affiliates, developers, and employees shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform.
  • Our total liability in connection with any claim shall not exceed the greater of:
    • INR ₹8,000 (or USD $100), or
    • The total amount you paid Philonet (if any) in the preceding 12 months.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Philonet, its affiliates, and their respective officers, employees, and partners from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising out of:

  • Your violation of these Terms.
  • Your misuse of the Platform.
  • Any claim that your User Content infringes the rights of any third party.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

  • These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.
  • All disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kolkata, West Bengal, India.
  • Disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably through good faith negotiations. If unresolved, they shall be referred to arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.

Modifications to Terms

  • Philonet reserves the right to amend, modify, or update these Terms at any time at its sole discretion.
  • Updated Terms will be posted on the Platform with a revised effective date.
  • Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

No Warranties

  • The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
  • Philonet disclaims all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
  • We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses.

Community Guidelines

Philonet.ai is built for thoughtful conversations, intellectual exploration, and collaborative knowledge discovery. These Community Guidelines exist to help keep Philonet safe, respectful, and constructive for everyone.

By participating on Philonet, you agree to follow these principles.

Respectful Participation

  • Treat others with respect, even when you disagree.
  • No harassment, bullying, personal attacks, or hate speech.
  • Critique ideas, not individuals.

Content Integrity

  • Share only content that you have rights to post. Do not upload copyrighted materials without permission.
  • Do not misrepresent, plagiarize, or impersonate others.
  • When using or discussing third-party content (articles, videos, research papers), comply with the publisher's original terms of service.

Factsynq™ and AI Features

  • Factsynq™ is a tool to help you verify information from multiple public sources.
  • It is not a guarantee of accuracy and should not be used as legal, medical, financial, or professional advice.
  • Always cross-check important information independently.

Prohibited Behavior

You may not use Philonet to:

  • Post illegal, harmful, defamatory, obscene, or violent content.
  • Spread misinformation or maliciously manipulate discussions.
  • Engage in spam, scams, or fraudulent activity.
  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools to manipulate the Platform.

Healthy Conversations

  • Keep discussions constructive and on-topic.
  • Avoid excessive self-promotion or irrelevant advertising.
  • Respect intellectual curiosity — Philonet is for exploration, not performance.

Privacy & Safety

  • Do not share personal information (yours or others') without consent.
  • Report harmful or suspicious activity to Philonet's moderation team.
  • Remember: once shared online, information may be difficult to remove.

Enforcement

  • Content or accounts that violate these guidelines may be removed, restricted, or permanently banned.
  • Enforcement decisions are at Philonet's discretion and may not always be appealed.
  • Our goal is to protect the community, not to police opinions — moderation focuses on harmful behavior, not viewpoints.

Community Responsibility

  • Every user contributes to the quality of Philonet.
